The Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) has updated its nomination caps that limit the annual nomination allocation to 25 per cent for specific sectors:
- 15 per cent (714 nominations) allocated to Food Service and Accommodation,
- 5 per cent (238 nominations) allocated to Trucking, and
- 5 per cent (238 nominations) allocated to Retail Trade.
Saskatchewan is committed to bringing in newcomers whose skills bring the greatest benefit to the province’s economy. This plan creates a fair system and supports long-term growth.
In 2026, there will be six intakes for employers to submit Job Approval Forms for candidates working in capped sectors. These dates will be communicated as part of the SINP Processing Statistics information on Applications and Nominations. To be eligible for an intake period, employers must have an identified candidate with a work permit expiring within the next six months.
Once the capped sector limits are full, Job Approval Forms (JAFs) will only be accepted for processing if more nominations are needed to meet SINP's yearly targets.
