There are a variety of provincial and national programs available for Saskatchewan agri-food exporters to help build and grow their export businesses through international trade and market development activities.
- The Ministry of Agriculture Product Development Program promotes the development and expansion of small to medium-sized enterprises by supporting agri-business product development and the marketing of value-added products.
- Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership (STEP) administers several funding programs to support Saskatchewan exporters in expanding their domestic and international market presence. Programs include:

- Agriculture and Agri‑Food Canada (AAFC) offers a suite of export‑focused programs designed to help Canadian agriculture and agri‑food businesses enter new markets, strengthen global competitiveness, and capitalize on emerging trade opportunities. These programs provide targeted support ranging from trade show participation to market diversification funding.
- The AgriMarketing Program: Market Diversification for Small and Medium-sized Enterprises helps Canadian agriculture, agri-food and agri-product businesses expand into new global and interprovincial markets. With $75 million in targeted funding available from 2026 to 2031, the program supports companies looking to reduce trade risks, respond to market disruptions and pursue high‑growth, non‑traditional markets – including regions such as Africa, the Middle East and the Indo-Pacific. Eligible for-profit SMEs can access non‑repayable contributions of up to $100,000 per project, cost‑shared at 70 per cent AAFC / 30 per cent applicant, to undertake activities that open new markets, build export capacity and strengthen long‑term competitiveness. Priority is given to sectors affected by recent trade disruptions or those pursuing new market opportunities. The intake is open from February 13, 2026, to September 30, 2030, or until funding is fully committed.
- Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada's Canada Pavilion Program aims to make trade show participation easier for Canadian companies at the seven premier food and beverage shows around the world.
- The Market Development Grant (MDG) funding supports industry associations to increase the domestic and international trade capacity and grow demand for Saskatchewan agricultural products, in three ways: in-market development, incoming missions or trade advocacy.
