The Saskatchewan Housing Benefit is a monthly benefit that helps eligible Saskatchewan renters with their shelter costs (rent and utilities). The Saskatchewan Housing Benefit is co-funded by the Government of Canada and the Government of Saskatchewan under the National Housing Strategy.
The monthly amount renters are eligible to receive depends on their household size and the percentage of their income spent on shelter costs:
Single and couples | Single or couple with one dependant | Single or couple with two or more dependants | ||||
Households that spend 35 to 45 per cent of their income on shelter | $175 | $225 | $275 | |||
Households that spend more than 45 per cent of their income on shelter | $225 | $275 | $325 |

There are two additional SHB streams that provide financial support for people in vulnerable living situations: the Supportive Housing Stream and the Seeking Safety from Interpersonal Violence Stream.
