The Advisory Committee on Francophone Affairs has presented the Minister Responsible for Francophone Affairs, Alana Ross, with a new report detailing their ongoing review and analysis of programs and policies in the social services sector. The report will help guide the continued implementation of Saskatchewan's French-Language Services Policy.
"The Government of Saskatchewan is proud to continue working collaboratively with the Francophone community to ensure equitable access to services," Ross said. "We appreciate the committee's work and their commitment to the Francophone community. While some of the recommendations require further discussion and analysis, we are prioritizing one of their recommendations, which is to translate information on the website around services and supports that are available to the public."
In preparing the report, the committee engaged with representatives from the Ministry of Social Services, as well as Francophone community organizations, to identify challenges and opportunities related to social services delivery in French. The report includes several recommendations aimed at improving access and responsiveness of services for Francophone residents.
"The Advisory Committee is honoured to contribute to a shared effort that strengthens the delivery of French-language services in Saskatchewan," Advisory Committee on Francophone Affairs Chair Alpha Barry said. "This report is the result of thoughtful engagement and careful analysis, offering practical recommendations that support the government's commitment to linguistic inclusion through the French-language Services Policy. By reinforcing the active offer of services in French, we aim to promote accessibility, a sense of belonging, dignity and equity for all Francophone residents."

Le Comité consultatif en matière d’affaires francophones a remis à la ministre responsable des affaires francophones, Alana Ross, un nouveau rapport détaillant son examen et son analyse des programmes et des politiques du secteur des services sociaux. Le rapport aidera à guider la mise en œuvre continue de la Politique de services en langue française du gouvernement de la Saskatchewan.
« Le gouvernement de la Saskatchewan s’est engagé à travailler en collaboration avec la communauté francophone afin d’assurer un accès équitable aux services, a déclaré madame Ross. Les idées et les recommandations formulées par le Comité sont essentielles pour nous aider à répondre aux besoins particuliers des personnes et des familles francophones dans toute la province. »
Dans le cadre de la préparation du rapport, le Comité a consulté des représentants du ministère des Services sociaux, ainsi que des organismes communautaires francophones, afin de cerner les défis et les possibilités liés à la prestation de services sociaux en français. Le rapport comprend plusieurs recommandations visant à améliorer l’accès et la réactivité des services pour les résidants francophones.
« Le Comité consultatif est honoré de contribuer à un effort commun qui renforce la prestation de services en français en Saskatchewan, a déclaré Alpha Barry, président du Comité consultatif en matière d’affaires francophones. Ce rapport est le résultat d’un engagement réfléchi et d’une analyse minutieuse. Il formule des recommandations pratiques qui soutiennent l’engagement du gouvernement en faveur de l’inclusion linguistique par l’entremise de la Politique de services en langue française. En renforçant l’offre active de services en français, nous visons à promouvoir l’accessibilité, le sentiment d’appartenance, la dignité et l’équité pour tous les résidants francophones. »
