By Tessa Thomas, AAg, Livestock and Feed Extension Specialist, Tisdale

November 2025

Are you located in northeast Saskatchewan and want to learn more about weather trends and predictions for the upcoming growing season? Are you interested in how farmland is valued? Are you curious about program opportunities for your farm? If so, we have the event for you.

Join the Ministry of Agriculture in Tisdale, Sask., on February 10, 2026, for our Focus on Farming event. Starting at 9 a.m. at the Tisdale and District Golden Age Centre, the event will start with a presentation from Mark Dean, owner of Precision Appraisals, who will provide an update on local agricultural land values. Mark has many years of experience in the real estate valuation industry and has in-depth knowledge of local land values. Ministry regional specialists will also be there to present their findings on crops, rangeland, livestock and programs from the past year.

We are excited to partner with Riverside Co-op and Farm Credit Canada to bring in keynote speaker, Drew Lerner, Founder, President and Senior Agricultural Meteorologist with World Weather Inc. Coming all the way from Kansas, Drew is a respected and valued source of information for producers when it comes to weather. His presentation will include weather trends and predictions for the upcoming growing season.

The event will include a catered lunch and have plenty of opportunities for networking. During breaks, participants can explore booths from different organizations, providing information on their farm and business programs available to producers. The event will conclude around 2:30 p.m.

Registration is $30. To register, please contact the Tisdale Regional Office at 306-878-8842 or the Agriculture Knowledge Centre at 1-866-457-2377. Deadline for registration is January 23, 2026. Seats are limited so sign up today.
