The Ministry of Energy and Resources has concluded consultations on proposed amendments to Directive PNG016: Acknowledgment of Reclamation Requirements and Directive PNG018: Detailed Site Assessment Requirements.
The proposed changes aim to expedite timelines and enhance clarity, consistency and technical accuracy in the Acknowledgment of Reclamation (AOR) application and Detailed Site Assessment (DSA) processes.
Consultations were held from October 20, 2025, to November 10, 2025. Feedback received during this period will inform the preparation of the final amended directives, which are expected to come into effect in winter 2026.
