PREMIER ANNOUNCES RECIPIENTS FOR PUBLIC SERVICE AWARD

Premier Brad Wall today announced the 2011 recipients of the Premier's Award for Excellence in the Public Service.

"Saskatchewan's public servants continue to significantly impact the lives of our family, friends and neighbours in communities across the province for the better," Wall said. "Today's recipients truly embody the best this province has to offer. They represent the Saskatchewan advantage and for that we celebrate their achievements."

The Premier's Award for Excellence recognizes public service employees in three categories: Innovation, Quality Service and Leadership.

The individual and team recipients are:

  • Lisa Boire, Public Service-Wide LEAN Initiative - Public Service Commission (Leadership)
  • Dean Elliott, Science Resources with First Nations and Métis Knowledge - Education (Innovation)
  • Potash Task Force Team - Energy and Resources (Leadership)
  • Provincial Emergency Response Team - Corrections, Public Safety and Policing (Leadership)
  • Provincial Partnership Committee on Missing Persons Team - Justice and Attorney General (Innovation)
  • Trans Canada Highway #1 Washout Project Team - Highways and Infrastructure (Quality Service)
  • Young Workers Readiness Certificate Course Development Team - Labour Relations and Workplace Safety (Innovation)

Individuals or teams from government ministries, some Treasury Board Crown Corporations, boards, commissions and agencies are eligible for nomination by the public service, stakeholder organizations, clients and the public. Selections are made by an independent committee.
