The Government of Saskatchewan is proud to announce it will have a presence at the Paralympics.
The province will have a pavilion at the Whistler Golf and Country Club March 17 to 20.
"We felt it was important to support the Paralympics by having a presence in Whistler," Tourism, Parks, Culture and Sport Minister Dustin Duncan said. "We are very proud of the show we put on in Vancouver and while our pavilion at the Paralympics is smaller, we will continue to showcase Saskatchewan to the world during this major sporting event."
Saskatchewan artists to perform at the pavilion include; Anique Granger, Rah Rah and the Best Buddies Blues Band.
The Saskatchewan pavilion at the Paralympics is a private venue. Athletes, their families, representatives from VANOC's Contributing Provinces and Territories Program, tourism officials and various business contacts will be invited.
"We want to wish Saskatchewan's own Colette Bourgonje from Porcupine Plain our very best at the Paralympics," Duncan said. "All our Saskatchewan athletes have done us proud and we know Colette will as well."
"Saskatchewan Wheelchair Sports Association is pleased the Government of Saskatchewan will have a presence at the Paralympic Games," Saskatchewan Wheelchair Sports Association Executive Director Andrea Muir said. "We are looking forward to the Paralympic Games and watching our own Colette Bourgonje and all the Canadian athletes compete in Vancouver."
