PREMIER APPOINTS DAN D’AUTREMONT AS GOVERNMENT HOUSE LEADER

Released on December 9, 2009

Premier Brad Wall today appointed Cannington MLA Dan D'Autremont as the new Government House Leader. D'Autremont takes over the position from Rod Gantefoer, who continues to serve as Finance Minister.

"Dan will bring a wealth of experience to managing the business of the Assembly for our government," Wall said. "He's been an MLA for 18 years, he has served in the past as Opposition House Leader and he understands the legislative process as well as anyone I know."

Municipal Affairs Minister Jeremy Harrison will become Deputy Government House Leader, taking over that position from Batoche MLA Delbert Kirsch who continues to serve as Legislative Secretary to the Premier and will be working on developing tourism opportunities that showcase Saskatchewan's rich history and heritage.

The spring sitting of the Legislative Assembly begins on March 8, 2010.
