INFORMATION SERVICES CORPORATION HOLDS GRAND RE-OPENING CELEBRATION

Released on September 7, 2006

Information Services Corporation of Saskatchewan (ISC) celebrated the grand re-opening of its newly renovated 1301 1st Avenue location in Regina today. The facility now accommodates 96 employees responsible for the management of the Land Registry, the Saskatchewan Personal Property Registry, the Geomatics Distribution Centre and the corporation's surveys division.

The newly renovated facility will provide a convenient single point of access for ISC customers in Regina and the surrounding area. The new centralized location is more easily accessible than the previous location and offers free parking for customers.

In addition, the facility was designed with employees in mind, creating a healthy work environment that took into account best practice designs and integrated them into work areas that are ergonomically and environmentally friendly. Also incorporated into the space are leading edge storage facilities for the paper-based archival material under ISC's management, such as maps, land grants and titles.

The $3.7 million renovation project came in $16,000 under budget. As a result of the project, ISC anticipates cost savings of $250,000 per year and will likely see a seven-year return on investment due to the reduced accommodation costs associated with the new facility.

"The newly renovated facility really reflects ISC's ongoing commitment to meeting customer needs and providing employees with a healthy work environment," Corrections and Public Safety Minister Kevin Yates said on behalf of Minister responsible for ISC Eric Cline.

In addition to the grand re-opening ceremony, 42 Regina area families were presented with a colour replica of their family's original land grant or title. The families were recognized for farming in the province for 100 years or more. ISC made similar presentations to more than 250 farm families at customer appreciation barbecues held across the province this summer.

"The accomplishments of these farm families is something that we at ISC feel is important to recognize and celebrate," ISC President and CEO Mark MacLeod said. "These families have shown a great commitment to our province and tremendous perseverance by working the same piece of land for 100 years."

Information Services Corporation of Saskatchewan is the provincial Crown Corporation responsible for the administration of land titles, survey and personal property registries, as well as related geographic information and mapping systems.

Formed as a corporation in January 2000, but with a history that pre-dates the province itself, ISC provides valued customer-focused services through all business channels, including the Internet, telephone, fax and in-person at its eight regional customer service centres located throughout the province.
