FARM FUEL PRICE ROSE IN MARCH

Results from the Farm Input Price Survey conducted by Saskatchewan

Agriculture, Food and Rural Revitalization for March show a rise in average

bulk farm fuel price and pump price fuel from February.



The average bulk diesel price rose by three per cent, bulk gasoline by four

per cent and pump gasoline rose by seven per cent.



In the livestock category, following a 26 per cent price increase in

February, cobalt salt blocks declined substantially in March to $3.76, down

23 per cent from the February price.



The Farm Input Price Survey Report is produced monthly by Saskatchewan

Agriculture, Food and Rural Revitalization to provide farmers with current

information about prices for key crop and livestock production inputs.



The data used in the report is collected from a network of Saskatchewan

farmers located throughout the province with survey data gathered directly

from farmers' transactions.



The monthly Farm Input Price Report is available on the web at

www.agr.gov.sk.ca/Statistics/Surveys.asp.
