INTERNET JOBS FOR MOOSE JAW

Released on October 11, 2001

With 100,000 Internet customers today, SaskTel is expanding its Internet

Help Desk by adding a second location in Moose Jaw. This will complement

the Regina Internet Help Desk, and will result in about 20 new positions in

the Band City.

"As SaskTel continues to extend its High Speed Internet Service to more

Saskatchewan communities, additional trained employees are needed to handle

inquiries from its expanding Internet customer base," Crown Investments

Corporation Minister Maynard Sonntag said. "In addition to meeting this

customer demand, this initiative is further example of SaskTel following

through on its commitment to maintain employment across Saskatchewan. It

creates new hiring opportunities, as students graduating from university

and technical programs are well-equipped with the skills needed to be part

of SaskTel's Internet Help Desk team."

This decision follows initiatives in Weyburn and Melfort where SaskTel made

arrangements in both communities for local telephone operators to remain in

their city as SaskTel Credit Services staff. As well, SaskTel made the

decision in 1999 to locate the SecurTek headquarters - and the associated

40 jobs - in Yorkton.

"Whether its expanding digital cellular to Cut Knife, offering High Speed

Internet in Watrous, or having employees who work and live in more than 50

communities such as Assiniboia, Coronach and Gravelbourg, SaskTel will live

up to its top priority of serving the people of our province," SaskTel

President and CEO Don Ching said.

SaskTel is the leading full service communications company in Saskatchewan,

offering complete wireline, wireless, Internet and e-business solutions

over a state-of-the-art, digital network. SaskTel maintains investments in

companies that provide a variety of products and services around the

world. Visit the SaskTel web site at www.sasktel.com.
