SGI DONATES VEHICLE

Released on February 28, 2001

The Nipawin Youth Group and Nipawin School Division Outreach program received a

special gift from SGI today - a 1998 Chevrolet G2500 van. Assistant Vice

President of Claims Doug Campbell today handed over the keys to the van at a

ceremony in Nipawin.

"I am happy to be making this donation on behalf of SGI," Campbell said.

"SGI's supply of salvage vehicles provides an excellent opportunity to give

back to the community and I am sure the Nipawin Youth Group and Nipawin School

Division Outreach program will put the van to good use."

"I'd like to express my gratitude to SGI for this generous donation," Nipawin

Local 134 President Luc Morin said. "Lack of transportation is a problem for

youth in rural Saskatchewan and this vehicle will certainly give young people

in the area the opportunity to participate in activities after school, in the

evenings or on weekends."

The Youth Centre, together with the Nipawin School Division Outreach Worker,

will use the donated vehicle to drive young people to programs that help build

good behaviour.

"The Nipawin Youth Group and Nipawin School Division Outreach program provide a

much-needed service to their community," Campbell said. "We hope the donation

of this vehicle will help these organizations continue their great efforts."
