SASKATCHEWAN ITINERARY FOR PRINCE OF WALES

His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales will travel to Regina, Saskatoon,

Moose Jaw and Assiniboia in his first ever visit to the province April 26th-

28th. The Prince has accepted invitations to visit a wide range of

organizations and institutions during his time here.



"As heir to the throne, the Prince of Wales is a symbol of Canada's

identity," Provincial Secretary Pat Lorjé said. "He will meet a wide cross-

section of our provincial community when he visits Saskatchewan. In

announcing the itinerary, I am anticipating the warm welcome he will

receive from Saskatchewan people."



On April 26th in Regina, the Prince will travel by landau to a welcoming

ceremony in front of the Legislative Building and will attend the

presentation of the Saskatchewan Volunteer Medal to sixteen citizens. He

will also visit city hall for a welcome by city council and community

groups.



On April 27th, he will tour Scott Collegiate, an inner-city school and

visit the well-known Chili for Children lunch program. Also on April 27th,

the Prince of Wales will visit the facilities at the NATO Flying Training

In Canada at 15 Wing Moose Jaw and travel to Assiniboia where he will

launch construction of a community complex, meet with local residents and

tour a rubber recycling plant.



On April 28th, he will visit a community service centre in Saskatoon,

dedicate a new section of the Meewasin Valley Trail and meet First Nations

elders, leaders, children and youth at Wanuskewin Heritage Park.



The visit itinerary reflects themes of interest to His Royal Highness,

including International Year of Volunteers, youth and education, inner-city

issues, rural life and Aboriginal people.
