SASKATOON SENIORS GET UPGRADED FACILITIES

More than 275 Saskatoon residents of the Scott and Forget seniors' towers are

enjoying expanded and improved facilities as a result of $600,000 in

renovations completed by Saskatchewan Municipal Affairs, Culture and Housing.



Improvements include an expanded kitchen facility and a bright, new multi-

purpose room for social and recreation activities as well as additional

bathrooms.



"Adequate and affordable housing is very important for our senior citizens,"

said Judy Junor, Associate Minister of Health and Minister responsible for

Seniors, on behalf of Jack Hillson, Minister of Municipal Affairs, Culture and

Housing.



Scott and Forget Towers is seniors' housing complex with 254 apartments.



Representatives from the provincial government, City of Saskatoon, Saskatoon

Housing Authority and tenants of Scott and Forget Towers attended the official

opening ceremony held today.
