Small business owners and entrepreneurs in North Battleford and area now have a
one-stop source of business advice and support.
The new Business Development Centre officially opened its doors today, and will
provide a wide range of economic development services to area businesses and co-
operatives.
The centre is a partnership of local economic development agencies. It houses
the offices of Saskatchewan Economic and Co-operative Development, the North
West Community Futures Development Corporation (CFDC), the Battlefords Tribal
Council Economic Development Unit, North West Nations Gaming Association Inc.
and Battlefords Regional Economic Development Authority (REDA).
"The Business Development Centre will provide valuable information and
counselling services to small businesses and entrepreneurs in the region,"
Economic and Co-operative Development Minister Janice MacKinnon said. "By
traveling to only one centre for resources, entrepreneurs have more time to
grow their businesses, creating more jobs and economic opportunity in
Saskatchewan."
The new facility is the latest in a series of business enterprise centres that
have been established by community economic development partners across
Saskatchewan. MacKinnon said the government encourages such partnerships as
part of a commitment to co-ordinated and streamlined services.
The Business Development Centre is located at 1202 – 101st Street in North
Battleford.
