Released on January 21, 1999
Highways and Transportation Minister Judy Bradley announced a 9.5 km
paving and widening project on Highway 21 south of Eatonia.
"This project is valued at more than $1.18 million and will use an
estimated 43 jobs in the construction," Bradley said.
Warner Construction Co. Ltd. was awarded the contract as the lowest of
six bidders. Hauling of gravel and stockpiling for the project is now
underway with the project starting date on the road in early May 1999.
Planned completion is scheduled for late June 1999. The paving will
begin at 2.9 km south of the Highway 21 junction with Highway 44 and
proceed south for a total distance of 9.5 km. The $1.18 million cost
includes department materials and resources.
"By tendering now, as part of the winter tender schedule, we can
ensure more projects are completed as planned," Bradley said. "We are
continuing to work hard to improve our highways right across
Saskatchewan."
