Released on January 14, 1999
Highways and Transportation Minister Judy Bradley today announced
awarding of a 4.9 km paving contract on Highway No. 14 near the
communities of Kinley and Asquith.
"This project is valued at more than $640,000 including department
materials and resources," Bradley said. "Paving will be done on
Highway No. 14 from its junction with Highway No. 376 to 3 km east
near Asquith. Almost 2 km more paving will be done on Highway No. 14,
11 km west of the junction of Highway No. 376 near Kinley."
H.J.R. Asphalt Ltd. was awarded the paving contract as the lowest of
seven bidders. Interim stockpiling for the project is underway and is
planned for completion at the end of February 1999. Paving is
expected to begin in late April 1999 and planned for completion in May
1999. An estimated 12 jobs will be used in completing the project.
This project is part of the $44.7 million winter tender schedule
announced by Minister Bradley in November.
"By tendering now as part of the winter tender schedule, we can ensure
more projects are completed as planned," Bradley said. "We are
continuing to work hard to improve our highways right across
Saskatchewan."
