CASINO FUNDS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO BEAUVAL YOUTH NATIONS
Released on May 1, 1998
Municipal Government Minister Carol Teichrob today announced Pathways
to Wellness of Beauval has received $1,000 in casino profits through
the Associated Entities Fund.
The grant will assist in funding the first annual youth conference,
with a purpose to promote healthy lifestyles and its rewards.
"The province established the Associated Entities Fund to distribute a
portion of casino profits for the benefit of Saskatchewan people,"
Teichrob said. "Since the beginning of 1997 more than $1 million in
casino profits have been distributed throughout Saskatchewan for
programs that support children, youth and families."
The grant will provide funding for a conference that will expose the
harsh reality of the world of drugs and alcohol. The youth attending
will also be given information about Sexually Transmitted Diseases and
Acquired Immunodeficiency Syndrome.
Associated Entities Fund receives a portion of the profits from Casino
Regina, the Gold Eagle Casino, North Battleford, the Northern Lights
Casino, Prince Albert and the Painted Hand Casino, Yorkton.
