CASINO FUNDS TO PROVIDE SUPPORT TO YOUTH IN THREE LLOYDMINSTER

Violet Stanger, MLA for Lloydminster, today announced on behalf of

Municipal Government Minister Carol Teichrob that three Lloydminster

community groups have received $9,370 from casino profits through the

Associated Entities Fund to fund educational activities for young

people.



"The province established the Associated Entities Fund to distribute a

portion of casino profits for the benefit of Saskatchewan people,"

Stanger said. "Since the beginning of 1997 more than $2 million in

casino profits have been distributed throughout Saskatchewan for

programs that support children, youth and families."



The Lloydminster Friendship Centre received $5,000 to support a

Children's Summer Day Camp Program. The objective of this program is

to offer children from low income families an opportunity to

participate in camp activities.



The Marshall Summer Program Committee received $3,600 for support of

its recreational summer children's programs. The participants will

enjoy various sporting events while enhancing social, physical and

intellectual abilities and create self-esteem.



H. Hardcastle School and the Edam Community Youth Group received

$770 for two presentations to be given to students from

Kindergarden to grade twelve to promote positive attitudes in

students.



Associated Entities Fund receives a portion of the profits from

Casino Regina, the Gold Eagle Casino, North Battleford, the

Northern Lights Casino, Prince Albert and the Painted Hand

Casino, Yorkton.
