PREMIER ROMANOW CONGRATULATES SASKATCHEWAN ROUGHRIDERS

Released on November 10, 1997

Saskatchewan's Premier, Roy Romanow, says the Toronto Argonauts will

quickly learn what it means to be lonely when they take on Canada's

best loved football team, the green and white Riders in next Sunday's

Grey Cup Championship in Edmonton.

Besides predicting a Roughrider win, the premier said the vast

majority of the more than 50 thousand fans in Commonwealth Stadium

will be cheering for Reggie Slack and the jolly green giants.

"With fans right across this vast country our Riders are truly

Canada's team," Romanow said.

The premier said all the people in Saskatchewan congratulate the Rider

players and coaches and the entire organization for a story book

ending to the 1997 CFL season.

"It's a great reward to the wonderful fans of this province who filled

Taylor Field game after game in what was a season of Roughrider ups

and downs. Whether pulling off a last minute win in regular season

play or providing heart stopping thrills in the playoffs the

Saskatchewan Roughriders have made 1997 a season to remember.

Go Riders Go!"
