REMEMBRANCE SERVICE AND CD-ROM LAUNCH AT LEGISLATURE NOVEMBER 6

Released on November 5, 1997

The annual service of remembrance for the Saskatchewan public service

is held on Thursday, November 6, at 11 a.m. in the main rotunda of the

Legislative Building in Regina. This year the service is followed by

the introduction of an educational CD-ROM by Veterans Affairs Canada,

entitled "Canada's Coming of Age, 1939-1945".



Lieutenant Governor John Wiebe and Mrs. Wiebe will be present at the

service and the Lieutenant Governor will perform the ceremonial start-up of the CD-ROM. Legislative Assembly Speaker Glenn Hagel is to

give the address at the service and Provincial Secretary Ned

Shillington will speak on behalf of the provincial government at the

CD-ROM event sponsored by Veterans Affairs Canada.



Grade 7 students from Henry Janzen School and grade 6 students from

St. Joan of Arc School in Regina are taking part in the event.
