NEW SASKTEL BUILDING OPENS IN NORTH BATTLEFORD

Released on February 26, 1997

Carol Teichrob, minister responsible for SaskTel, today announced the
grand opening of the new administration building and SaskTel store in
North Battleford.

"By opening this new building, SaskTel demonstrates the great strides
it has made in offering superior customer service," Teichrob said.
"The new SaskTel store offers business and residential customers a wide
range of SaskTel products and services for their individual
communication needs. Customers can also experiment with these products
and services before they buy."

SaskTel offices for Operator Services, administration, sales staff and
customer and business representatives are also housed in the new
building, located at 1201 - 100th Street. About 60 employees work in
the administration building. The new store allows SaskTel employees to
better interact with customers and by consolidating space, the
operating costs are cut by almost 50 per cent.

Construction of the building began in April, 1996 and was completed by
mid-November.

SaskTel is the leading full-service communications company in
Saskatchewan, providing voice, data, Internet, text and messaging
services over a digital network, as well as cellular, paging and
Fleetnet 800 service through its SaskTel Mobility division.
