SASKTEL MOBILITY ANNOUNCES CELLULAR EXPANSION

Released on November 21, 1996

Carol Teichrob, minister responsible for SaskTel, today announced
SaskTel will expand its cellular services to seven more Saskatchewan
communities in 1997.

"In 1997, SaskTel Mobility cellular service will be available in
Kelvington, Gravelbourg, Carrot River, Consul, Robsart, Divide and
Senate," Teichrob said.

"SaskTel Mobility will make it simpler for those who live and work in
these communities to save time and money when they do business. The
willingness to invest in communities by expanding cellular coverage
clearly demonstrates SaskTel's commitment to providing Saskatchewan
customers with complete communications solutions.

"It also is a further example of SaskTel's competitiveness and desire
to be a leader in the communications industry."

SaskTel introduced cellular service in 1989. The SaskTel Mobility
cellular network currently includes all of the province's cities, many
of the larger towns, and most of the major connecting highway
corridors.

Each year, SaskTel determines cellular expansion areas based on
population, work force, level of economic activity and the amount of
highway traffic in a given area.

Cellular service is available from about 130 SaskTel Mobility Centres
throughout the province. New Mobility Centres will be added in the
1997 expansion areas.
