CEASE TRADING ORDER ISSUED

Released on May 31, 1996

The Saskatchewan Securities Commission today announced that it has
issued a temporary cease trade order against Gerald Henry Turcotte of
Comox, B.C., formerly of Regina.

Turcotte is registered to trade in mutual funds in Saskatchewan.
Turcotte was named as executor of an elderly client's will and also as
a beneficiary of the client's estate. Because these circumstances
raise questions about Turcotte's suitability for continued
registration, the commission issued a cease trade order.

"Those involved in providing financial advice or selling securities
must act in their clients' best interests at all times," said Vic
Pankratz, head of the commission's enforcement branch. "Financial
advisors and salespersons must strictly avoid situations which may put
them into a conflict of interest."

The cease trade order prohibits Turcotte from selling securities in
Saskatchewan. It is in force until June 7, 1996, and may be extended
at that time.
