HI-TEC PROFILES INCORPORATED EXPANSION TO CREATE JOBS

Released on July 18, 1996

Deputy Premier and Economic Development Minister Dwain Lingenfelter
today welcomed the expansion of Regina-based Hi-Tec Profiles
Incorporated.

Hi-Tec Profiles' main business is manufacturing component parts for
other Saskatchewan industrial and manufacturing firms. The recent
purchase of a laser cutting system will allow the company to process
virtually any material and to expand its client base. The laser system
is the first of its kind in southern Saskatchewan.

"Hi-Tec Profiles is a perfect example of a Saskatchewan company that is
creating jobs by taking advantage of both our province's existing
strengths and opportunities resulting from new technologies,"
Lingenfelter said. "That philosophy is a key aspect of the province's
economic strategy Partnership for Growth."

Hi-Tec Profiles began operating in May 1995, with five full-time
employees. The company has expanded rapidly. It now employs 15 full-
time and two part-time workers. An additional five full-time employees
are expected to be hired by the end of the year.

Recently, the plant added a unique powder colour-coating system that is
the first of its kind used for commercial purposes in Saskatchewan. To
accommodate the system, 2,500 square feet of space was added to the
plant. The additions have increased the company's investment in the
plant to more than $1.6 million.

"There has been a strong demand for our products, and we're pleased
with how quickly we've been able to build up our client base," Hi-Tec
Profiles President Dwayne Henry said. "While the majority of our
customers come from Saskatchewan, we are actively pursuing
opportunities outside Saskatchewan's borders, including the highly
competitive American market."

"The impressive beginning and quick expansion of Hi-Tec Profiles is
indicative of the confidence the Saskatchewan business community has in
our province's economy," Lingenfelter said. "Thanks to the innovation
and commitment of firms like Hi-Tec Profiles, our economy will continue
to perform well in the future."
