Gas Commercialization Mapping (GCM) Service
1. Guidance
The Gas Commercialization Mapping (GCM) Service highlights potential areas where gas volumes are available that could lead to further gas commercialization, including a table of licensees to contact and initiate discussions towards contracting flared or vented gas towards a potential project.
The produced map and table includes vented and flared gas volumes within a single geographic area, for a static instance of 12 months within a radius of 5, 10 and 15 km.
The GCM Service may be requested no more than twice a year per geographic area due to the seasonal production nature of the vented and flared gas volumes.
- This service is request based only and not a monthly service
- For all requested reports, there will be a minimum two-month delay in volumetric information to allow for any major amendments to be completed.
- For definitions of activities and product types related to the volumetric information please see Directive PNG032: Volumetric, Valuation, and Infrastructure Reporting in Petrinex and Directive PNG017: Measurement Requirements for Oil and Gas Operations.
- A fee may be charged as per Directive PNG030: Fees for Data and Related Services.

2. Eligibility
The GCM Service may be requested twice a year per 5-digit Saskatchewan Business Associate for each geographic area. A fee may be charged as per Directive PNG030: Fees for Data and Related Services. The requests will be completed within 15 business days.
A geographic area may also be known as a Production Reporting Area, defined as a:
- Sub-layer under the Petroleum Layer of the Saskatchewan GeoPlanner.
- Sub-layer under the Oil and Gas Layer of the Mining and Petroleum GeoAtlas.
A Business Associate Identifier application is available online through Petrinex by clicking the Apply for Access link at the bottom of the page. Contact the ER Service Desk at 1-855-219-9373 or email er.servicedesk@gov.sk.ca for additional information or assistance completing the application.
