The Livestock Loan Guarantee (LLG) program will cease active operation on July 31, 2019. Current members can continue to borrow under the guarantee until that date. Loan terms continue to be in effect until they have been repaid. Loan repayment for cattle must be complete by July 31, 2024, and bison by July 31, 2025.

Cattle that have been financed through LLG will bear the brand of the association which they were financed through.

  • If a brand release is needed, contact the association that the brand is registered to;
  • If there is no longer an association or contact for the brand, please contact the Programs Branch to determine if a release can be made available.

Current bison/cattle administrative forms for LLG will continue to be available in the Livestock Loan Guarantee Program (Beef/Bison) section on Publications Centre.
