Saskatchewan Transportation Company Will Keep Packages Moving in the Province

Released on June 30, 2016

The Saskatchewan Transportation Company (STC) is ready to assist with mail and shipping requirements with the potential for a Canada Post service disruption as early as July 2.

The STC has developed a plan to ensure staffing and capacity are available so that individuals, businesses and government will be able to continue moving documents and packages within the province.

“STC will be there for Saskatchewan people and businesses in the event of a postal strike,” STC President and CEO Shawn Grice said.  “Our economy relies on the movement of goods between communities and STC is ready to meet that need.”

STC’s network and partners link 267 communities across Saskatchewan.  There are many affordable options for shipping including the EconoLetter and EconoPak with same-day and weekend service available on some schedules.  Pick-up and delivery options are available in 62 centres, providing a convenient alternative without having to visit an agency or depot.  Information on shipping options and communities served can be found at www.stcbus.com/shipping.

“STC is well known for our passenger services, but for 70 years we have also connected individuals and businesses with our shipping options,” Grice said.  “With points from Creighton to East End, we are here to ensure that packages continue to be delivered in Saskatchewan.”
