With about 30 provincial highway projects in various stages throughout Saskatchewan listed this week, motorists are reminded to be aware of construction zones and various road work while on their way to their summer destination.
"We're asking travelers to please obey all flag persons, electronic message boards relating to road work or potential detours and slow to 60 km/hr when passing highway workers and equipment in the Orange Zone," Highways and Infrastructure Minister Jim Reiter said.
All motorists should be cautious and alert when approaching any road activity or a segment of highway at a various stage in construction or repair. Even if a project is shut down for a crew's day off, it can still potentially impact your travel.
New road activity highlighted for this update includes an estimated $9.8 million worth of repaving on about 39 km of Highway 18 in the Estevan area expected to begin as early as next week, while about 8 km micro surfacing on Highway 10 in the Melville area expected to be underway this week.
