The Government of Saskatchewan, City of Weyburn, RM of Weyburn and the Weyburn District Regional Planning Commission are conducting the Weyburn Regional Transportation Study.
The purpose is to develop a road network plan that can safely and efficiently handle the traffic that will be generated by regional growth and development. This plan will ensure the regional road network can serve the future needs of the RM and the City, while integrating efficiently with the provincial highway network.
While the study focuses on highways, municipal roads, and major arterial roads within the Weyburn area, it will also include a look into existing regional road network issues, future road network requirements and develop various regional road network options.
The preferred routes will be integrated into a long-range road network plan, including an implementation plan for phasing in network improvements.
