Check Application Processing Times for SINP

Overview

Job Approval Forms (JAFs) for specific occupations in the Accommodations and Food Service, Retail Trade, and Trucking sectors will no longer be processed as the SINP has reached its 25 per cent cap for these sectors in 2025. While JAFs will still be accepted and remain in the system, they will only be processed if additional positions are required to meet the annual nomination allocation.

The processing time is updated every quarter (every three months). It shows the average time it took that quarter to process an application. The time is measured in weeks for each category. Processing times can change and are not always an accurate prediction for future applications.

Below you will find the average time it takes for 80 per cent of applications to be processed. It is measured from when an application is first received to when it is processed. The fastest and slowest 10 per cent of applications are considered outliers and are removed from the averages.

International Skilled Worker

The goal is to process all International Skilled Worker and Saskatchewan Experience applications within 16 weeks. To process an application, we must have all information and supporting documents.

SINP Category Quarter 4: 2024-25

Employment Offer 12 weeks
Occupation In-Demand Not Available

Saskatchewan Experience

SINP Category Quarter 4: 2024-25
(January 1 to March 31, 2025)

Existing Work Permit 13 weeks
International Students 17 weeks

Processing times are calculated for applications that are finalized. This means the decision on the file is:

  • Nominated.
  • Returned.
  • Ineligible.

Entrepreneur and Farm

The goal is to process all Entrepreneur and Farm applications (including Entrepreneur Nomination requests) within 12 weeks, and all Good Faith Deposit Return requests within 24 weeks.

Effective March 27, 2025, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program has permanently closed all Entrepreneur and Farm immigration pathways. As a result:

  • No new applications will be accepted
  • No new expressions of interest will be considered
  • No further invitations to apply will be issued

Please note that all existing applications currently in our system will continue to be processed to completion.

(January 1 to March 31, 2025)
Entrepreneur Applications* Not available due to sample size.
Entrepreneurs Nominations Not available due to sample size.
Farmers** Not available due to sample size.

*Entrepreneur application processing times are calculated from the date that both an application and a third-party financial verification report is sent. This excludes time waiting on applicants to submit.

**Farm Owners and Operators processing times are calculated from the date we confirm receipt of an application, including the application processing fee and third-party report, to the date we make a final decision.

Second Reviews

The table below outlines processing times for second review requests completed in the previous quarter. Please note that you will be notified by email once the review is complete, at which point your application may be approved for nomination, require additional information, or have the ineligibility decision upheld with no further appeal options.

Second Review Requestor Quarter 4: 2024-25
(January 1 to March 31, 2025)
Applicants with Job Offers 2 weeks
Applicants without Job Offers 4 weeks

Job Approval Process

The SINP Job Approval Letter is a pre-approved authorization for an employer to hire a foreign worker through the SINP. The SINP will assess each Job Approval Form to see if the job meets SINP criteria. The goal is to process Job Approval Forms within six weeks. To process an application, we must have all information and supporting documents.

Sector Quarter 4: 2024-25
(January 1 to March 31, 2025)
Health, Agriculture and Skilled Trades 2 weeks
Other Sectors 2 weeks

If the submitted position meets Employer Service's criteria, it will be approved. Once approved, the employer can add your name to the position to create a Candidate Specific Job Approval Letter. This letter must be included in your SINP application.

The nominations available for non-temporary residents recruited from outside Canada will be limited to occupations in healthcare, agriculture, and skilled trades. These sectors have been identified based on critical workforce needs and support for broader government priorities. To support this, Job Approval Form submissions not for current employees will only be permitted for these three groups in 2025.
