The Government of Saskatchewan has released a Sexually Transmitted and Blood-Borne Infection Multi-Year Action Plan (STBBI Map), which provides strategic direction to strengthen collaboration within the health system. The plan is designed to reduce the transmission and impacts of STBBIs on individuals, families and communities.
The STBBI MAP has four core pillars:
- Prevention
- Testing
- Initiation of treatment and care
- Ongoing care and support
Saskatchewan’s STBBI MAP recognizes the significant efforts already underway and focuses on additional efforts that need to be phased in and expanded over time to reduce the rates of STBBIs in the province. The STBBI MAP reflects the Government of Saskatchewan's commitment to enhancing access to care and support across the health system.
While STBBIs are not unique to our province, our response is tailored to Saskatchewan, leveraging local strengths and partnerships to improve the quality of life for all residents.
