Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship

The Saskatchewan Innovation and Opportunity Scholarship (SIOS) program helps Saskatchewan post-secondary institutions provide scholarships to students in new and emerging areas of study. Institutions receive provincial government funding through the program, which is then matched by private sector and community-based partners. The institutions allocate the funds towards their own scholarships. These scholarships may not include SIOS in the name.

Scholarships that are funded by the SIOS program are administered and distributed by Saskatchewan post-secondary institutions. Contact your institution to learn more about scholarship opportunities and how to apply.

Eligibility

Eligibility criteria for scholarships funded by the SIOS program are determined by the post-secondary institution that is administering the scholarships. Students in a variety of new and emerging fields of study may be eligible for scholarships. Eligible areas of study include, but are not limited to:

  • mining
  • energy
  • agriculture/biotechnology
  • environment
  • science
  • nuclear medicine
  • forestry
  • manufacturing
  • engineering

Contact your post-secondary institution to see which scholarships may be right for you.

How to Apply

Applications for scholarships funded through the SIOS program must be submitted through your post-secondary institution. Scholarship names and descriptions may not clearly identify SIOS, but you are encouraged to apply for all scholarships that you may be eligible for. Contact the scholarship or award office at your institution for more information.
