Canada and Saskatchewan Student Grants

Grants are available through the Government of Saskatchewan and the Government of Canada to help students fund their post-secondary education. You will be automatically assessed for grants when you apply for Full-Time or Part-Time Saskatchewan Student Aid. Eligibility for Canada and Saskatchewan Student Grants is determined based on your family size and income, weeks of study and, in some circumstances, assessed financial need.

Did you know that grants-only funding is available? Grants do not need to be paid back! To receive only grants and decline student loans, choose the grants-only option on your Saskatchewan Student Aid application.

Please note that there are specific circumstances where grants may become repayable. Read the 2025-26 Student Aid Handbook for more information on grants.
