Proposed New Surface Rights Compensation Payment Enforcement Tools

The Ministry of Energy and Resources has concluded consultations on the proposed amendments to The Surface Rights Acquisition and Compensation Act and The Oil and Gas Conservation Act. The proposed amendments aim to enhance the ability of the Saskatchewan Surface Rights Board of Arbitration (Board) and the ministry to enforce payment of compensation owing pursuant to a surface lease or a Board order.
