Released on February 24, 2026
On February 10, 2026, Air Liquide Canada Inc. pleaded guilty in Saskatoon Provincial Court to a violation of The Occupational Health and Safety Regulations, 2020.
The company was charged with contravening subsection 9-22(6) of the regulations (being an employer at a place of employment, fail to develop and implement a traffic control plan to protect the worker from traffic hazards, resulting in a serious injury of a worker). One additional charge was withdrawn.
As a result, the Court imposed a fine of $71,428.57, along with a victim fine surcharge of $28,571.43, for a total fine of $100,000.
The charges stemmed from an incident that occurred on June 21, 2023, near Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. A worker was seriously injured after being hit by a forklift.
