Death At Regina Correctional Centre

Released on August 17, 2020

A male inmate was declared deceased at the Regina Correctional Centre at approximately 1:20 am on Sunday, August 16 after being found unresponsive in his cell.

The Ministry of Corrections and Policing will be conducting an internal investigation, and working with the RCMP and the Coroners Service as they complete their own investigations.

This death is not related to COVID-19.  Next of kin have been notified.
