Building on the province’s agricultural strength, Agrocorp Processing has announced plans to move its headquarters to Moose Jaw.Agrocorp’s Canadian headquarters will relocate in early 2017 from Vancouver to Moose Jaw, where the company currently operates a high-speed loading and cleaning facility. Along with the move, the company expects to add an additional 20 new jobs as the company expands over the next three years in Moose Jaw.
“Attracting head offices of companies to our province has been a priority of our government,” Premier Brad Wall said. “I first met Agrocorp Chairman and Managing Director Vijay Iyengar during an Asian trade mission and certainly encouraged Agrocorp to invest in Saskatchewan. So I welcome this decision and thank Agrocorp for creating new jobs and investment in Saskatchewan.

As a well-recognized global supplier and marketer of food and agricultural products, Singapore-based Agrocorp holds a long history of purchasing Canadian grains, pulses, oilseeds and specialty crops. In the last year Agrocorp’s bulk vessel and container divisions combined for a total export of 1.75 million metric tonnes of Canadian pulses, grains and oilseeds. With 17 global offices, one of Agrocorp’s greatest strengths is an established presence in Canada’s top emerging export markets.
Since Agrocorp Processing’s inception in 2009, it has expanded to four processing plants and 50 employees Canada-wide. Agrocorp’s state-of-the-art, $20 million Moose Jaw high-speed, gentle handling pulse facility opened in 2013.
Agrocorp continues to accelerate its bulk vessel and containerized business in Canada, both in major grains and specialty crops. With the United Nations declaring 2016 the International Year of Pulses, Canadian growers stepped up to the challenge of meeting growing international demand, producing a record pea crop of an estimated 4.6 million tonnes and 3.2 million tonnes of lentils. Almost half of the Canadian pea production and more than two-thirds of lentils came from Saskatchewan farmers.
“Canada has established itself as a major supplier of plant protein for the world’s increasing population, and we are excited to have Agrocorp as part of Saskatchewan’s global story,” Wall said.
