Government Relations Minister Jim Reiter Takes On Additional Duties

Released on August 8, 2016

Premier Brad Wall today appointed Jim Reiter to serve as Minister responsible for Crown Investments Corporation (CIC), Saskatchewan Government Insurance (SGI), Saskatchewan Liquor and Gaming Authority (SLGA) and the Public Service Commission (PSC) on an interim basis until the cabinet shuffle expected later this month.

Reiter takes on the new responsibilities in addition to his current duties as Minister of Government Relations, Minister responsible for First Nations, Métis and Northern Affairs and Minister responsible for SaskEnergy and SaskTel.

“Jim Reiter has been a strong and capable minister for our government in all of the portfolios he has held and I know he will do a good job of handing these additional duties,” Wall said.

Wall said he will not be naming a new Deputy Premier for the time being.  That appointment will be made in the upcoming cabinet shuffle.
