Learn How to Get the Most Out of Your Money During Financial Literacy Month

Released on November 6, 2015

The Financial and Consumer Affairs Authority (FCAA) is kicking off Financial Literacy Month this November by asking Saskatchewan families to take time to discuss responsible money management.

The FCAA will be providing information and links to free financial resources on Twitter and Facebook throughout November to help Saskatchewan families learn more about getting the most out of their money.

“We’re proud to participate in Financial Literacy Month as part of our on-going efforts to promote financial literacy across the province,” FCAA Chair and CEO Roger Sobotkiewicz said.  “We urge Saskatchewan people of all ages to take advantage of the information and free tools available and set aside time this month to discuss the importance of financial literacy with their families.”

Financial literacy encompasses a wide range of topics such as properly managing credit, creating a budget and knowing what to watch out for when buying a home or vehicle.

Consumers have an increasing amount of financial options and services to choose from, and it’s more important than ever to learn how to make responsible financial decisions.

For more financial literacy information visit www.fcaa.gov.sk.ca/finlit/, and follow FCAA’s financial literacy month updates on Twitter and Facebook at @SKGov and www.facebook.com/SKGov/.

If you want to join the financial literacy conversation this November, use the hashtags #FCAA, #FLM2015 and #CountMeInCA to follow and share information on Twitter.
