Order of Merit 30th Anniversary in 2015
Lieutenant Governor Vaughn Solomon Schofield reminds citizens that November 1 is the new nomination deadline for the province’s highest honour, as the Saskatchewan Order of Merit prepares for its 30th anniversary next year.
“Awards programs rely on thoughtful nominations,” Solomon Schofield said. “It takes time and energy to prepare a comprehensive submission, but it is well worth the effort. We have many accomplished and generous citizens, who merit recognition for their remarkable contributions to our province. I encourage everyone to consider nominating a deserving individual to receive Saskatchewan’s highest honour in time for the new deadline of November 1.”
The Lieutenant Governor is the Chancellor of the Saskatchewan Order of Merit, which takes precedence over all other provincial honours and awards.
Recipients will attend a ceremony in May 2015, which will commemorate the provincial honour’s 30th anniversary and the Order’s 30th investiture.
Nominations for 2014 already made since the last Saskatchewan Order of Merit investiture need not be resubmitted.
