As Saskatchewan dusts off the first snowfall of the season, crews continue to work on more than 40 highway construction projects across the province.
“Motorists should be aware that in spite of the snow, workers and equipment are still present on many highways,” Highways and Infrastructure Minister Don McMorris said. “Crews will keep working on roads until the ground is frozen and continue bridge work through the winter, so drivers should be on the lookout for work and slow to 60 km/hr when they pass through work zones.”
Ministry crews are able to quickly transition between summer and winter maintenance to respond to weather events and ensure roads are cleared in a timely manner.
New construction work underway in the province this week includes a $2.6 million repaving of a 5.5 km stretch of Highway 2 north of Northside near Christopher Lake.
