PREMIER EXPRESSES CONDOLENCES ON PASSING OF FORMER SPEAKER HERB SWAN

Released on May 31, 2013

Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall expressed condolences today on behalf of the people of our province to the family of Herb Swan.

Swan served as the MLA for Rosetown-Elrose from 1978-1991, was Speaker from 1982 to 1986, and a cabinet minister from 1986 to 1989.

“I remember Herb Swan being an extremely gracious and patient man which are good characteristics for anyone, but especially the Speaker of the Assembly,” Wall said.  “Tami and I want to express our sincerest condolences to Swan’s family, in particular his wife, Anita and their children Karen, Bonnie, Kirk and Heather as well as their 12 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren.”

Flags at the Legislature will fly half mast until Monday, June 3.
