The Office of the Chief Coroner has released the Report of Coroner regarding the death of Mr. Muhammad Naqash Ali, who drowned at Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre in Saskatoon on June 8, 2012.
“This is a very tragic situation for all concerned,” Saskatchewan Chief Coroner Kent Stewart said. “The circumstances highlight the importance of awareness, education and water safety skills in preventing water related fatalities throughout Saskatchewan.”

The Office of the Chief Coroner is responsible for the investigation of all sudden, unexpected deaths. In addition to establishing who died, when and where the individual died, the medical cause of death and the manner of death, a coroner may also make recommendations to prevent similar deaths in the future.
