Deputy Minister to the Premier Doug Moen today announced some changes in the leadership of the Saskatchewan Public Service.

“Some Deputy Ministers are changing portfolios and we are welcoming some new faces,” Moen said.  “These changes will make the best use of the talent we have in our senior civil service.  I am pleased to announce that Kevin Fenwick, formerly the Saskatchewan Ombudsman, becomes Deputy Minister of Justice and Deputy Attorney General.”

Other senior changes include:

  • Dan Florizone moves from Deputy Minister of Health to Deputy Minister of Education
  • Cam Swan moves from the Chair of the Public Service Commission to Deputy Minister of Environment;
  • Lin Gallagher becomes Deputy Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport; and
  • Cheryl Senecal moves from Deputy Minister of Education to become Chair of the Public Service Commission.

Former Deputy Minister of Justice and Deputy Attorney General, Gerald Tegart, will remain at the ministry as Senior Legal Advisor for a period of time.  Wynne Young, formerly the Deputy Minister of Parks, Culture and Sport, is being reassigned to the Johnson-Shoyama Graduate School of Public Policy.  Liz Quarshie, formerly the Deputy Minister of Environment, will be leaving the Government of Saskatchewan to pursue other opportunities.

“I want to thank these professionals for their service to the people of Saskatchewan,” Moen said.
