MINISTRY OF AGRICULTURE POSTS ADVANCE CONTRACT AWARD NOTICE FOR DOMESTIC MEAT INSPECTION SERVICES

Released on June 4, 2013

An Advanced Contract Award Notice (ACAN) is now posted on SaskTenders.  Suppliers who consider themselves capable of delivering meat inspection services are invited to submit a written statement of capabilities by June 18, 2013.  The Government of Saskatchewan may conduct a competitive process in the event one or more suppliers come forward.

The ministry currently contracts the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) to deliver meat inspection services to 12 provincial-licensed meat facilities.  Effective January 1, 2014, CFIA will no longer provide these services.  The CFIA will still continue to provide meat inspection services to federal meat facilities in Saskatchewan.  This does not affect health-licensed meat facilities in the province
