PREMIER TO MEET WITH CANPOTEX AND ITS INTERNATIONAL POTASH CUSTOMERS

Released on August 23, 2013

This evening, Premier Brad Wall will attend a meeting and reception in Calgary with Canpotex and a number of its international customers.

“The potash industry and the marketing of our potash through Canpotex is extremely important to our provincial economy,” Wall said.  “Potash creates thousands of jobs and puts billions of dollars into the Saskatchewan economy, both through current production and through the various mine expansions that are underway throughout the province.”

Wall said the meeting is important to maintain and strengthen Canpotex’s excellent relationship with its customers in various parts of the world.

“Our business is about building relationships and we’re glad to have the Premier’s involvement,” Canpotex President and CEO Steve Dechka said.  “In addition to a large supply of high quality potash, Saskatchewan also offers a sound, stable economic and political environment compared to many other parts of the world, so it’s great to have the Premier attend and promote everything the province has to offer.”

Wall thanked Canpotex and its member companies – Agrium, Mosaic and PotashCorp – for their ongoing contributions to Saskatchewan.
