A Successful 2012 for ISC

Released on April 16, 2013

Information Services Corporation (ISC) recorded significant financial gains in 2012, reflecting a strong Saskatchewan economy.

“Last year was a successful one for ISC posting a $21.2 million profit,” Minister responsible for ISC Don McMorris said.  “As we announced last fall, by creating a publicly-traded company, ISC will be able to expand and grow into markets and jurisdictions and diversify risk as they’ve never previously been able to.”

Revenues are $77.3 million in 2012.  The corporation will be returning a $19.1 million dividend to its shareholder, Crown Investments Corporation (CIC).

“ISC has high employee engagement and strong customer satisfaction,” ISC President and CEO Jeff Stusek said.  “While we are preparing for growth opportunities, we never lose sight that authenticated, secure and reliable information services is the core of our business.”

Other operational highlights from the 2012 Annual Report include:

  • ISC now offers the Canada Revenue Agency Business Number as part of the business registration process, making it easier for businesses to interact with other government agencies.
  • The corporation worked with the Ministry of the Economy in the launch of a new online system for issuing mineral permits, claims and leases.  This new system has made the process much more efficient, which directly benefits mining companies.  What used to take weeks to complete now takes just a few hours.
  • ISC provides extra-provincial business registrations with Alberta and British Columbia in support of the New West Partnership Trade Agreement.
  • Vital Statistics customers now have the ability to order birth and marriage certificates online.
  • ISC renewed five of seven customer service centres around the province to bring front-line workers and the customers they serve together.
