Provincial Secretary Wayne Elhard announced today that a delegation of Consular Corps representatives from across Canada will be in Regina today to attend the opening of the Second Session of the Twenty-Seventh Legislature and reading of the Throne Speech.
"As Saskatchewan continues to emerge as a major exporter on a global scale, I am delighted to once again have representatives from the Consular Corps in our provincial capital to attend the opening of Session and to experience first-hand the Saskatchewan Advantage," Elhard said.
The Consular Corps delegation is made up of diplomats representing countries from around the world. Representatives from Indonesia, Netherlands, Iceland, Mexico, Italy, Japan, Germany and Pakistan will be present at the Legislative Building for the official arrival of Lieutenant Governor Vaughn Solomon Schofield, the reading of the Throne Speech and the Speaker's Tea.
Before that, the delegation will meet with Economy Minister Bill Boyd, Minister responsible for Trade Tim McMillan and attend presentations hosted by representatives from Saskatchewan Trade and Export Partnership and the Global Transportation Hub. Afterwards, they will attend a reception hosted by the Lieutenant Governor at Government House.
The Provincial Secretary and Protocol Office work with government, organizations and communities to provide opportunities to celebrate and promote the diversity, character and achievements of our province and to engage diplomats and Consular Corps who visit Saskatchewan as part of government's strategy to strengthen and build regional, national and international relationships.
